Italy trip is Surrey Board of Trade’s first since 2017 – and it’s not just business – Cloverdale Reporter

First class travel to Italy is provided by the Surrey Board of Trade and its members.

The “Best of Amalfi Coast & Rome” adventure is booked for a week this fall, from October 25 to November 1.

The last SBOT-approved trip was to Dubai in 2017, following trips to India (in 2011) and China (in 2008 and 2009).

“The trip (to Italy) will be conducted in accordance with applicable health and travel requirements and regulations,” said Anita Huberman, president and CEO of SBOT.

A pamphlet posted on the organization’s website details the trip, planned by Aventura World.

The $3,599 advance registration fee includes round-trip airfare from Vancouver to Rome, hotel accommodation for six nights, “superb” cuisine, sightseeing, coaches and more.

“This trip is geared towards sightseeing activities, but if you’re looking to schedule business meetings in Rome, you can do so on request,” SBOT notes.

A Zoom’d information session will be broadcast on February 18where potential travelers can learn “how you’ll experience one of the world’s most beloved destinations where history, culture, food, fashion and business intersect”.

Session details are published on

“As a chamber of commerce, we appreciate that some of you receiving this message may find the offer inappropriate, while some of you may welcome it as a refreshing change,” notes a message on the website. “We honor both viewpoints and welcome appreciation and criticism alike.”
