Ida housing estate will see its streets sealed next week


Streets in a Lewis Avenue subdivision in the village of Ida will have a stone chip application and will be sealed next week, the Monroe County Roads Commission said.

The roads will be closed to through traffic while crews work, said Pamela Morgan of the roads commission’s maintenance division. The roads will be swept the next day.

Motorists are encouraged to travel at a recommended speed limit of 25 mph until the seal surface has been swept away, Morgan said.

This is one of the many projects the road commission has scheduled for next week. Here is an overview of road works planned in other townships, with many improvements depending on the weather:

Township of Dundee

N. County Line Rd. – The digging and widening of the N. County Line is planned between M-50 and Day Rd., Closing the N. County Line to traffic. Traffic regulators will maintain local access.

Canton of Milan

Cone Rd. – The cone remains closed at the North Macon Creek Bridge between Wabash Road and Crowe Road. due to the replacement of the level crossing. The bridge will remain closed for the duration of the project, Morgan said. The provisional reopening is expected in early September, she said. A signed detour around the bridge includes Cone, Dennison, Milwaukee, and Ann Arbor Rds.

Milan Beach access at 16339 Cone Rd. Will be maintained east of the closed Ann Arbor Rd., US-23 interchange and Cone Rd. Exit (Exit 22) and Crowe.

Asphalt works are planned on the following roads, closing them to traffic:

Cone Rd. – From Ann Arbor Road. to the end of the sidewalk.

Dennison Road. – From Hickory Road. at Hack Rd.

Dundee-Azalia Road – From Ostrander Rd. to Oelke Road.

Hickory – From Dennison to N. County Line.

Redman Road. – From Dennison to the city limits of Milan.

Township of Summerfield

Waterproofing improvements are planned in the following streets, closing them:

Chemin du Center Ida. – From S. County Line Rd. To Alt Road.

Summerfield Road. – From Ida center to Ida West Rd.

Todd Road. – From Bacon Rd. To Summerfield.
